Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with the Green University of Bangladesh, recently organised a seminar titled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging & Inspiring Youth in Banking" under its flagship PrimeAcademia initiative.
Prof Mohammad Shorif Uddin, vice-chancellor of the Green University of Bangladesh, attended the programme as the chief guest and emphasised that financial inclusion is vital for sustainable development and youth empowerment, according to a press release.
Prof Khawza Iftekhar Uddin Ahmed, pro-vice-chancellor of the universtiy; Prof Md Fayzur Rahman, treasurer; and Prof Mohammed Tareque Aziz, dean, were present.
The seminar also featured the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Prime Bank and Green University to strengthen industry-academia collaboration through joint initiatives and student-focused programmes.
Shaila Abedin, senior executive vice-president and head of liability at Prime Bank PLC, and Captain (Navy-LPR) SM Salahuddin, registrar of the Green University of Bangladesh, signed the MoU on the university campus in Dhaka recently.
Through PrimeAcademia, Prime Bank supports educational institutions nationwide with integrated financial solutions, including digital fee collection, payroll services, school banking, and customised student accounts.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, inspiring young minds to align their aspirations with inclusive financial growth and national progress, the release added.
MM Mahbub Hasan, senior vice-president and head of financial inclusion and school banking at the bank, was also present, along with other senior officials from both institutions.
