Shakti Foundation wins award at CPD Climate Week 2025
Shakti Foundation has been awarded the First Runner-Up Award for its BCEP Project at Climate Week 2025, organised by the Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD). The foundation competed among six institutions recognised for their innovative and impactful climate initiatives.
The award was presented to Shakti Foundation during the closing ceremony of the four-day conference held at BRAC Centre Inn, Dhaka. Dr. Fahmida Khatun, Executive Director of CPD, and Anders B. Carlsen, Deputy Head of Mission at the Royal Danish Embassy in Bangladesh, handed over the award.
Climate Week 2025, held from 18 to 21 October, brought together policymakers, researchers, civil society members, youth representatives, and private sector entrepreneurs to discuss climate resilience, adaptation, and innovation in Bangladesh.
Shakti Foundation's exhibition booth drew the attention of distinguished visitors including Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Interim Government on Environment, Forest, Climate Change and Water Resources; Anders B. Carlsen, Deputy Head of Mission of the Royal Danish Embassy; Syed Amir Ahmed, Lead Economist of the World Bank; along with other national and international scholars and policymakers.
At the event, Shakti Foundation showcased two of its flagship climate initiatives — the "Lautola Forest" project and the "Rural Electrification Model" — both designed to promote sustainability, community empowerment, and renewable energy adoption.
Through its participation at Climate Week 2025, Shakti Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to advancing sustainable development and climate resilience in Bangladesh, while inspiring the next generation of young leaders to build an equitable and green future.
