Is metro rail charging Tk100 for entry and exit from the same station?
The Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) issued a notice in this regard today (22 October).
The notice reads, "For valued passengers' kind information: entering and exiting the same station without fare is currently unavailable."
It further adds, "Tk100 will be charged as fare for entering and exiting the same station."
Previously, passengers were allowed to exit the station within five minutes of entry without any charge.
During a visit to Agargaon Metro Station, a new notice was found displayed at various entry and exit points.
A staff member at the station said the same notice has been posted across all metro stations in Dhaka.
Attempts to contact DMTCL for comment regarding the new directive were unsuccessful, as of filing this report.
