Entrepreneurship development programme held at Bengal Commercial Bank
Bengal Commercial Bank has successfully concluded its month-long "Entrepreneurship Development Program" aimed at fostering growth and competitiveness in the small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.
The training was organised under the "Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Program (SICIP)" — a project of the Ministry of Finance, supervised by Bangladesh Bank and financed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The certificate awarding ceremony was held at the Bengal Commercial Bank Training Centre, Dilkusha, Dhaka, where K. M. Awlad Hossain, Additional Managing Director and CBO of Bengal Commercial Bank, presided over the event.
Nawshad Mustafa, Director of SMESPD, Bangladesh Bank, attended as the chief guest, while Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Director of SMESPD; Mohammad Wasim, Joint Director of SMESPD; Rafiq Ahmad, Head of Human Resources Division, and Jyotirmoy Chakraborty, Head of SME, Bengal Commercial Bank, were present as special guests.
During the ceremony, 25 trained entrepreneurs received certificates and gifts in recognition of their successful completion of the programme. Crests were also awarded to the three best-performing participants for their exceptional engagement and entrepreneurial potential.
The initiative reflects Bengal Commercial Bank's ongoing commitment to developing the country's SME sector by equipping entrepreneurs with practical knowledge, business management skills, and access to institutional support — key ingredients for sustainable industrial growth and innovation.
